Terms of Service

Last updated 25 April 2026

These terms govern your use of 21bill (the "service"). By signing up, subscribing, or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

1. Who can use the service

You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to enter into contracts under Indian law on behalf of yourself or your business. The service is intended for businesses registered or operating in India.

2. Account responsibility

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials safe. If you sign in via Google, the security of your Google account is your responsibility. We're not liable for losses caused by credential compromise on your end.

3. Subscription, billing, and refunds

  • 21bill offers a 30-day free trial on signup, with no credit card required.
  • After the trial, two paid plans are available — Starter (₹99/month) and Business (₹299/month). Pricing is exclusive of GST. Pricing may change with 30-day prior notice.
  • Payments are processed by Razorpay. By subscribing, you also agree to Razorpay's terms.
  • Refund policy: we issue full refunds for any subscription within the first 7 days of a billing cycle if you write to us. After that, partial refunds are at our discretion based on the specific situation. We won't trap you, but we won't issue 12-month retro-refunds either.
  • Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to use the service to:

  • Issue invoices that violate Indian GST law (fake invoicing, circular billing, etc.).
  • Impersonate another business or individual.
  • Probe, scan, or attempt to bypass our security or rate limits.
  • Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes third-party IP.
  • Resell access to the service without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate your account for material violations after written notice and a reasonable opportunity to cure (except for security threats, where we can act immediately).

5. Your data

  • You own the business data you put into 21bill (invoices, customers, products, etc.).
  • You grant us a limited licence to process that data for the sole purpose of running the service for you.
  • We don't sell your data, and we don't use it to train AI models. See our privacy policy for the full breakdown.
  • On account closure, we delete your business data within 30 days, except invoice records that Indian tax law requires us to retain.

6. Service availability

We aim for 99.9% uptime. We're not contractually committed to a specific SLA on the Starter plan. The Business plan includes priority support with a 4-hour response SLA during Indian business hours (Mon–Fri, 09:00–19:00 IST). For planned maintenance, we notify users at least 24 hours in advance via email.

7. Tax compliance disclaimer

21bill is a tool to help you create GST-compliant invoices and download GSTR-1 / GSTR-3B JSON for upload at gst.gov.in. We are not tax advisors. The GST classifications, rates, and content shown on our HSN directory and blog are for reference only. We are not liable for tax filing decisions you make using the tool. Confirm with a CA or with the latest CBIC notification before filing.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by Indian law, our total liability arising from your use of 21bill is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses (including lost revenue, lost business, or regulatory fines).

9. Modifications

We may update these terms with 30-day prior notice via email. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. The terms are versioned in our public Git repository (history).

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, with exclusive jurisdiction. Before filing a suit, parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution by writing to [email protected].
